Breaking Records in January
February 2018

January is one of the busiest months at the Javits Center, and the winter editions of Texworld USA and Apparel Sourcing USA were busier than ever inside the glass-enclosed convention center on Manhattan’s West Side. A record-breaking 371 exhibitors representing 14 countries displayed textiles, trims, accessories, manufacturing and private label development services and finished apparel for industry buyers, designers and experts, event organizers said.

Over three days, more than 4,000 guests visited the Javits Center to learn about the latest trends in textiles, materials, fabrics and get the opportunity to meet designers and suppliers from around the world.

“We believe in building a true industry event that unites the best talent from the industry with access to education and valuable resources, as well as a chance for our vibrant community to connect and exchange ideas," said Jennifer Bacon, Show Director, Fashion & Apparel. “We are also aware of the changing fashion ecosystem. Texworld USA and Apparel Sourcing are dedicated to contributing to the fashion industry worldwide.”

Event organizers will have the opportunity to expand, modify and diversify their events once the expansion project at the Javits Center is completed in 2021. Under the historic project, 500,000 square feet of contiguous exhibition space will be created, along with more than 100,000 square feet of meeting room space, a 55,000 square foot ballroom and a rooftop terrace that can accommodate up to 1,500 guests at one time. An on-site truck garage also is being constructed to accelerate and streamline the move-in and move-out process.

“We’re excited to provide more dynamic spaces to events like TexWorld USA and Apparel Sourcing USA and improve the customer experience like never before,” said Javits Center Chief Communications Officer Tony Sclafani. “Thanks to Governor Cuomo’s vision and the leadership of Empire State Development and the New York Convention Center Development Corporation, this project is certain to transform the Javits Center into one of the most desired event venues anywhere in the country.”
