First Residential Tower Breaks Ground at Hudson Yards

Related Companies has broken ground on the first residential tower at Hudson Yards, a major milestone that exemplifies the rapidly-changing neighborhood surrounding the Javits Center, according to a news report. 
The 70-story skyscraper at 15 Hudson Yards will be the first of several new residential towers at the highly anticipated development in the coming years, according to the New York Daily News. 
"If you go back 100 years, no one ever imagined that Park Ave. would be what it is today. This is the next Park Ave.," Related's Vice President Michael Samuelian told the Daily News in a December 4 story. 
Comprised of nearly 1 million square feet, the sleek new tower will be located next to the High Line, and construction is expected to be complete by 2018. 
The first office skyscraper at 10 Hudson Yards is currently being constructed and will top out in 2015, company officials have said. That skyscraper will be 52 stories tall and is expected to house the offices of fashion icon Coach and the first New York City department store for Neiman Marcus, according to news reports.
