The Javits Center honored more than 125 employees at its annual Employee Service Awards luncheon, celebrating the work of its veteran employees who have helped to build the foundation of this iconic structure.
President and CEO Alan Steel presided over the ceremony, applauding the work of all of the award winners who have dedicated their careers to the show floor on Manhattan’s West Side. From five years to 30 years, the staffers honored come from all backgrounds and departments, but they share one common goal, year after year – to put on the greatest show on this planet.
"While we all recognize that the building we have today is a better building than we had 10 years ago, you have been and are the heart and soul of that building. You are the personality of the building. You are the experience of the building," Mr. Steel told the audience in the River Pavilion. "What you have done over the years – what most of you are still doing today – is why we are still here. Why we continue to be the busiest convention center in the country, and why our customers are happy to be here."
