As a result of ongoing construction work related to the expansion project, a protection wall will be installed off the far north glass wall on the north concourse from mid-August through early September 2018. The structure will be approximately 30 feet from the glass wall and will extend from the floor to the ceiling.
This wall will provide a safety separation during the upcoming steel erection and sheer wall and cladding installation. The wall will remain in place for the duration of the expansion project. At this time, banners will be allowed to be hung directly on the protection wall.
“This wall is designed to safeguard customers and employees during the next phases of construction for the expansion project,” said Tony Sclafani, Chief Communications Officer at the Javits Center. “We anticipate the safety wall will have a minimal impact on events during this construction period.”
