Our staff has launched a new program called JavitsCares that is designed to facilitate the donation of materials and goods after an event has concluded at the Javits Center.
By working closely with event organizers and various non-profit organizations throughout the New York region, the program has been a tremendous success – with the donation of more than 1,000 items so far in 2019. From food to furniture, these items are donated to groups in need, including schools, churches and theatre groups across the region. A big thanks goes to our customers, as well as our Vice President of Set up and Event Solutions, Michael Ruberry and Director of Environmental Solutions, Adriana Fargelli and their teams, for their work in ensuring the program’s success.
So far, we have received 75 thank you letters from those who have received the items.
Here are some of the highlights:
“On behalf of more than 1,800 children who belong to the Variety Boys & Girls Club of Queens, we want to thank the Javits Center for the generous donation of furniture that we received from Materials for the Arts. Your donation will help us in our efforts to furnish and supply our new Teen Center.” -- Andy Rodriguez, Interim Executive Director
“The donation you provided will give our facilitators the tools they need to develop different and exciting lessons that the inmates can engage in.” -- Lindsey Lybrand, Program Coordinator for Creative Arts, NYC Department of Correction
“I would like to express our sincerest gratitude for your company's donations of the shelving unit. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your continued support for the works that we do.”-- Cris Avanzado, Mathematics Teacher, International High School for Health Sciences, Elmhurst
“Few words can express the appreciation of the students and teachers of P.S. 149 Queens for your generosity towards Materials for the Arts. We have chosen stool furniture that will be used throughout the school. Our staff is most appreciative.” -- Rene Lopez, Computer Teacher, P.S. 149, Jackson Heights, Queens
