Comic Con Fans Verified
New York Comic Con is one of the largest events at the Javits Center -- attracting more than 160,000 attendees -- and event producers have implemented a new ticketing process to help fans gain access to the wild event on Manhattan’s West Side this year.
ReedPOP, the producer of New York Comic Con, has implemented a new fan verification process in order to take a stand against ticket resellers, according to organizers. Launched on May 20, this process asks fans to create an online profile in order to purchase tickets when they go on sale, and anyone who has not completed a profile will not be able to purchase tickets for the October show.
The fan verification process will close on Monday, June 13, so all fans should make sure to create a profile as soon as possible! For the first time, tickets can only be purchased through New York Comic Con’s website at newyorkcomiccon.com. There will be no retail sales, according to event organizers.
“At ReedPOP, we put our fans first, and this process is to get as many tickets into the hands of those fans, plain and simple,” said Lance Fensterman, Global Senior Vice President of ReedPOP. “We know it is a little more work for our fans, but we hope they will happily work with this new system if it helps to thwart ticket brokers and ticket resellers.”
