We have released our Fiscal Year 2019 Annual Report, highlighting a number of significant accomplishments during the past year and the exciting future ahead. Entitled "Virtue of Many," the colorful, 44-page report celebrates the commitment of our employees, customers, stakeholders and neighbors who have worked together to rebuild and reimagine America's busiest convention center.

The report features the latest updates and improvements throughout the iconic venue, including the launch of a new dining and hospitality brand, the identification of four new bird species on our green roof and the installation of high-speed roll-up doors on our loading docks. Our $1.5 billion expansion project is now more than 50% completed with hundreds of dedicated construction workers building out the concrete and steel structure each day. The doors are scheduled to open in early 2021.

“There has never been a better time to be at the Javits Center,” President and CEO Alan Steel wrote in his greeting. “With our historic expansion close to completion and a thriving neighborhood on all sides of our six-block campus, Manhattan’s West Side is quickly becoming the new heart of New York City -- and that’s great news for our customers, stakeholders and all of our business partners."

In 2018 and 2019, the Javits Center hosted more than 40 new events and generated more than $2 billion in economic activity throughout the region, exemplifying the growing popularity of the convention center and the West Side neighborhood.

Among the report's highlights include:

  • The launch of JavitsCares, a new program designed to facilitate the donation of goods and materials after the conclusion of events;
  • The design and soon-to-be construction of the largest rooftop solar array in New York City, in conjunction with the New York Power Authority and Siemens;
  • The expansion of the Javits Juniors Scholarship Program, which provides college scholarships to local students.
