The first phase of Hudson Yards, the massive residential, cultural and commercial development across the street from the Javits Center, officially opened on March 15, signifying the transformation of Manhattan’s West Side from a once desolate, dormant area to the new heart of New York City lined with new restaurants, retail shops and state-of-the-art residential units and office space.
For the Javits Center, Hudson Yards serves as the perfect complement to our events, providing customers, employees and stakeholders with a number of cultural and shopping attractions that can make a visit to the West Side an unforgettable one.
Here’s a breakdown of some of the highlights to explore:
- The Shops and Restaurants at Hudson Yards: A seven-story retail paradise with 25 restaurants led by a variety of celebrity chefs, major retail brands such as Neiman Marcus and Coach, and Snark Park, an interactive experience with various design installations for members of the public to explore and enjoy.
- The Vessel: A monumental 150-foot-tall structure that contains nearly 2,500 individual steps, 154 interconnecting stair cases and 80 landings, giving a 360-degree view of New York City. It has been described as New York City’s own Eiffel Tower.
- 35 Hudson Yards: A skyscraper more than 1,000 feet tall that features Equinox’s first concept hotel, along with more than 140 apartments.
