Javits Juniors in October
October 2015

We’re hosting schools at the Javits Center in October, providing students with an inside look at the country’s busiest convention Center! As a part of our Javits Juniors program, our employees provide building tours to classes from local elementary schools, demonstrating the importance of the Javits Center, our day-to-day operations and the impact of our nearly 7-acre green roof, which has become a sanctuary for wildlife. Every student receives a t-shirt and a water bottle – and a little more knowledge about the trade show industry and the Javits Center!

Earlier this month, we toured our building with nearly 30 seventh graders from Guardian Angel School on 10th Avenue in Chelsea, who loved watching our electricians and carpenters construct the exhibits for New York Comic Con!

“It is a pleasure to host the students and show them how much of an impact the Javits Center has on New York,” said President and CEO Alan Steel. “For many of the children, it is the first time here, and we aim to provide a greater understand of our mission, our operations and our sustainability program – which reinforces the importance of green building in such a dense, urban environment like New York.”
