This month, the Javits Center is hosting LIGHTFAIR® International (LFI®), the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference, from May 3 through May 7. More than 26,000 attendees are expected at this year’s conference, which will present a comprehensive curriculum of lighting and design education featuring top thought-leaders in more than 78 course offerings to complement and extend the LFI trade show experience.

During the five-day event, attendees will experience product launches and the newest technologies from the industry’s leading manufacturers, as well as conference courses that span the lighting and design spectrum, from Lighting Basics to Daylighting to Advanced Lighting Control Systems. The two-day LIGHTFAIR Institute® also provides in-depth courses on a variety of relevant topics.

More than 500 exhibitors will populate the expanded trade show floor, including more than 90 first-time exhibitors. Expanded categories include alternative energy including solar power, software, exterior and roadway, digital signage, healthcare and hospitality. World-renowned keynote and impact speakers offer their unique perspectives on lighting and design: Shuji Nakamura, Ph.D., 2014 Nobel Prize Winner in Physics; inventor Chuck Hoberman, president and founder of Hoberman Associates; iconic lighting designer Howard Brandston, founding partner of the Brandston Partnership; and Mark Rea, Ph.D., director of the Lighting Research Center.

“LIGHTFAIR@ International is a tremendous event that brings all of the latest trends throughout the lighting industry under one roof,” said Alan Steel, President and CEO of the New York Convention Center Operating Corporation, which operates the Javits Center. “With thousands of attendees from around the world, this event will generate millions of dollars in economic activity for New York, and we are honored and proud to host such an amazing event at our newly renovated facility.”

A full schedule of events will take place from May 3-7 including speaker presentations, industry updates, exhibitor presentations and giveaways. Information about all LFI 2015 networking events can be found here.
