We’re breaking records – again! More than 35,000 industry trade professionals attended the recent International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in May, shattering previous attendance records held during the event’s 28-year history, according to event organizers. ICFF is the latest Javits Center-hosted event to experience a surge in attendance since a renovation was completed in 2014.

“The 2016 edition of ICFF NYC exceeded all of our expectations,” said Kevin O’Keefe, ICFF show director. “The expanded fair, with its new features and larger scale, were a hit with attendees, as were the Best of NYCxDESIGN Awards at MoMA, which we know will return bigger and better in 2017.”

Showcasing the best in contemporary design, ICFF saw a six percent spike in attendance as organizers welcomed more than 130 new exhibitors and 587 returning brands and pavilions to the Javits Center on Manhattan’s West Side. The annual North American expo featured 165,000 square feet of exhibition space, a 30% increase compared to previous year’s event, organizers said.

“The Javits Center is home to so many trend-setting events, and ICFF leads the way in showcasing the best in furniture design,” said Tony Sclafani, Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer at the Javits Center. “We are proud to host ICFF, and we are thrilled to hear about their record-breaking attendance – which is great for their business, great for their exhibitors and great for New York.”
